Arthur Adams was born in Medon, Tennessee, a small town eighty miles north of Memphis. He briefly studied music at Tennessee State and played a few gigs with the Tennessee State Jazz and Blues Band. Then he hit the road for Georgia, Florida, Alabama and Texas playing R&B and down home southern blues. Eventually he would up in Dallas, Texas, where he landed a gig in a local club and formed a band. He played in clubs throughout Texas appearing with such artists as Chuck Berry, T-Bone Walker and others.
Then Arthur moved to Los Angeles, California and began to play clubs in the Los Angeles area for about two years. He began to do studio work with Quincy Jones, who recorded a song that Arthur wrote (Love And Peace) which appears on "Walkin' In Space" on A&M. The album won a Grammy. He also recorded with James Brown, James Taylor, Jimmy Smith and The Crusaders. Bonnie Raitt, Tommy Lipuma co-produced his first album, "It's Private Tonight" on Blues Thumb. He did a tour of Europe with Diana Ross and Nina Simone. Arthur recently recorded with B.B. King and he wrote two of the songs on the album "There's Always One More Time" (MCA). He and his four piece band are now playing clubs and concerts and working with producer Stewart Levine. Arthur is currently at BB King's Blues Club in Hollywood.
